How can I order the Broadband service installation?
To have the broadband connection installed at your premises, you must fill the order form on Cyberia's home page and submit it. A site survey to your building is then scheduled.
Why do you need a site survey?
A site survey is scheduled to make sure that the building is compliant with the service installation
Terms and Conditions.
What are the service installation Terms and Conditions?
- The service will be used at a residential
apartment
- There are 3 or more subscribers in the building
- The building is covered by one of the transmission stations providing the service
How much time do you need to provide the Broadband service?
If your building meets the service installation
Terms and Conditions, the installation should take 10 to 15 days from day of order. The connection is installed by your Local Area Support Partner LASP and your PC is assigned an Installation ID and an IP address. You are now ready to subscribe to Cyberia's Broadband Internet Services and choose the account type that suits you.
Do I need any cabling inside the apartment?
Yes, you do. This service is wireless up to the roof of the building. Inside the building, an Ethernet cable connects your PC to the building hub.
Do I have to pay for the unit installed on the roof?
No. The unit installed on the roof is the property of GDS, the carrier company. You only need to pay the one time $75 for installation and then the monthly subscription fee.
Are there any requirements other than the building compliance with the service installation
Terms and Conditions?
Yes. You must have a PC with windows 98 or above and an Ethernet card with RJ45 connector installed and operational on your PC.
How can I subscribe to Cyberia's Wireless Broadband Internet Services?
To subscribe, you must first have the broadband connection installed and an IP address assigned to your PC. Next you need to follow the simple procedure below:
- Purchase a prepaid "card" or "activation
numbers" from your Local Area Support Partner.
- Have the Installation ID and the IP number
assigned to your PC at the time of installation ready next to you. You
might be asked to enter these numbers when signing up for the first
time.
- Turn on your PC where the broadband connection
has been installed.
- Open Internet Explorer and wait for the default
page to load
- Follow the instructions on the screen to either signup for a new account or renew your existing subscription
How can I renew my account?
Purchase a prepaid "card" or "activation numbers" from your Local Area Support Partner, turn on your PC where the broadband connection has been installed, Open Internet Explorer, wait for the default page to load and then follow the instructions on the screen to renew your existing subscription.

If I already have an account with Cyberia, can I use it?
Yes, you can use your existing account with Cyberia. You only need to activate a Broadband Internet Access CyberPAC instead of an Unlimited or Unlimited 56K account to change your account type to Broadband 128, 256 or 512 K. You can buy the Broadband Internet Access CyberPAC from your local area support partner.
Can I dial-in to Cyberia with my Broadband account?
Yes you can. If you have a Broadband 128, 256 or 512K account type, you can use your same username and password to dial-in using your phone line and modem to any of Cyberia’s dial up numbers (1650, 1655 and 1656)
What is the minimum speed Up? And down?
The Wireless Broadband Internet Access service provided by Cyberia is a shared service based on a variable contention ratio. At off peak times, the speed can burst up to 128Kbps, 256Kbps or 512Kbps depending on the account type you have chosen, Kbps standing for Kilo bits per second.
8 Kbps (Kilo bits per second) = 1 KBps (Kilo Bytes per second).
Can I get the maximum speed (i.e. 128, 256, 512)?
At off peak time, the speed can burst up to 128Kbps, 256Kbps or 512Kbps depending on the account type you have chosen; Kbps standing for Kilo bits per second.
How much does the Broadband service cost?
The first time installation fee for any account type is $75
128 Kbps: $45 / month
256 Kbps: $100 / month
512
Kbps: $175 / month
All prices above do not include the VAT.
Will I pay any phone bills?
No, the only fees paid are the first time installation fee and the fixed monthly subscription fee which includes the connection and the Internet access.
Can I use this connection for Multiple PCs?
No, this type of connection can be used on a single PC at a time.
Why can't I use my username to login from another PC?
For security reasons, to protect your account from misuse and the service from abuse by unauthorized persons, the login with your username to the Internet has been restricted to your PC only.
If I don't use my account for some time, will it expire?
If you do not use your account for 3 consecutive months, the account will expire. To reactivate your account, you have to pay the first time installation fees again ($75) in addition to the monthly subscription fee corresponding to the account type you choose.
Can I have a fixed IP?
You will have a fixed IP, however the IP is not public.
Can I use the connection for VPN?
No, the Residential Wireless Broadband Internet Access account does not support VPN.
