BetaBinary presents enough unresolved safety concerns to justify avoiding deposits. The concern is not simply that binary options are risky. It is whether you can identify the business holding your money, verify its permission to offer the product, and establish enforceable withdrawal terms before paying.
That is a risk assessment, not a court finding of fraud. This review does not establish that every BetaBinary transaction is fraudulent or that every customer has lost money. It does identify gaps that should stop a prospective customer from treating the platform as a verified, trustworthy broker.
If you have already deposited, focus on preserving records and contacting your payment provider. Sending more money to settle doubts about the first payment is not a verification method.
What the BetaBinary evidence shows
BetaBinary has been marketed through betabinary.com and betabinary.ke. A BrokerListings investigation updated September 3, 2026 documents discrepancies between its advertising and the service available during the publisher’s account testing.
| Area checked | Published finding | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Market access | Advertising claimed more than 100 assets; testing found 12 binary assets. | The advertised service did not match the available product. |
| Payouts | Marketing promoted up to 950%; observed payouts were mostly around 100%. | A maximum headline does not describe typical trading conditions. |
| Customer support | Test questions received no live chat answers despite a 24/7 support claim. | Customers need a usable route for withdrawal disputes. |
| Contract terms | The terms link did not work during testing. | Customers could not inspect the agreement through that link. |
| Execution | Some trades failed or took several seconds to execute. | Timing problems matter for short duration contracts. |
These findings describe dated tests, not a guarantee that the interface remains unchanged. A repaired button or revised advertisement would address that individual issue. It would not, by itself, establish who owes customers money or what protection applies to their deposits.
Can you verify the company behind BetaBinary?
Start with the contracting business, not the trading screen. Ask for the full legal name, company registration number, registered address, regulator, licence number, and client agreement. The business named in the agreement should make sense alongside the payment recipient and any claimed regulatory entry.
Do not accept a logo, certificate image, or company incorporation document as the complete answer. The practical question is whether an independently verifiable record connects the business to the domain, service and account you are using.
For a claimed Kenyan forex authorisation, inspect the CMA register of non-dealing online foreign exchange brokers. That is one licence category, not a universal directory of every permitted financial activity. Check the category relevant to the claim and ask the authority about unresolved differences rather than guessing.
A different company name is not automatically evidence of deception; businesses can use trading names. But the relationship needs documentation. “Our parent company holds the licence” is a claim to verify, not a substitute for verification.
If someone supplies another firm’s licence number, compare the official contact details with the people approaching you. The checks in our guide to clone brokers using genuine company details help separate a real regulatory entry from someone borrowing its identity.
The Kenyan binary options restriction matters
Regulation 16(4)(b) of Kenya’s Capital Markets (Online Foreign Exchange Trading) Regulations prohibits an online foreign exchange broker from offering binary options for trading. The provision appears in the Kenya Law consolidated online forex regulations.
Consequently, a claim about a Kenyan forex licence would not settle whether a binary options offering is authorised. The product permission matters as much as the company name. A Kenyan domain or familiar payment method does not answer that question.
Why the payout headline needs closer inspection
A large payout percentage tells you little without the contract rules. You need to know whether it represents profit or the total returned, which outcomes qualify, how the settlement value is calculated, and how much of the stake disappears on a losing trade.
Consider a hypothetical contract offering a 950% net profit on a win and losing the entire stake otherwise. A $10 win produces $95 profit; a loss costs $10. Ignoring fees, the break even success rate is about 9.52%. If the actual chance of winning were lower, the attractive headline would still describe a losing proposition. This is an illustration, not a calculation of BetaBinary’s odds.
Conversely, a contract paying 80% net profit needs a win rate above approximately 55.56% to break even before costs. Neither percentage proves fairness. The calculation only works if the stated payout and settlement rules are accurate and honoured.
Before accepting any return claim, request a worked example covering both outcomes. If support cannot explain what happens to a $10 stake, there is little reason to trust a more elaborate earnings projection.
The same standard applies to automated tools. An “AI” label does not answer who supplies the data, how decisions are made, or whether the results include every losing trade. Our article on AI trading bot scams promising guaranteed returns covers those claims separately.
Is BetaBinary connected to TagOption?
Published comparisons raise that possibility, but they do not establish common ownership. The BinaryOptions.net BetaBinary investigation dated July 23, 2026 records closely similar trading interfaces and cashier areas. Its account testing also identified contracts labelled Even/Odd, Matches/Differs and Over/Under, alongside missing verifiable company and licensing information.
The distinction matters. Similar interfaces can indicate shared software, a common supplier, copied design or common control. Screenshots alone cannot determine which explanation is correct. Calling BetaBinary a proven TagOption rebrand would go beyond the evidence reviewed here.
For a customer, the useful question is whether the operator can demonstrate an accountable business relationship, not whether two colour schemes look familiar. Our separate examination of TagOption withdrawal complaints and safety concerns addresses that platform without assuming the allegations automatically transfer to BetaBinary.
What would make a withdrawal problem more suspicious?
A pending withdrawal is not enough on its own to prove fraud. Assess the explanation: what requirement remains outstanding, where was it disclosed, what evidence supports it, and when will the business provide a decision?
The SEC’s binary options fraud warning identifies complaints involving cancelled withdrawal requests, refusals to reimburse customers, ignored communications, identity theft and alleged software manipulation. Those are sector warnings, not findings against BetaBinary.
For your own account, keep the distinction between a trading loss and money withheld after a withdrawal request. A complaint that mixes the two without supporting records is harder to assess. Record the amount deposited, trades completed, amount requested, request date and exact reason given for refusal.
Do not treat a dashboard balance as proof that withdrawable money exists. Ask for transaction records and compare them with independently received payments. Our guide to platforms displaying profits while blocking withdrawals examines that problem in more detail.
If a new payment becomes the condition for release
If someone asks for a further deposit labelled “tax”, “clearance”, “insurance” or “verification”, stop and verify the demand independently. Request the written basis, the recipient’s legal identity and the contractual provision being relied upon.
This is a conditional warning, not a claim that BetaBinary has made every one of these demands. The practical response is covered in our guide to brokers demanding tax payments before releasing withdrawals. Do not let an urgent deadline replace an independent check.
What to do if you already paid BetaBinary
Begin with records you control. Save evidence before closing an account or deleting conversations, but do not delay contacting your payment provider while assembling a perfect file.
The CFTC’s steps to take after suspected investment fraud recommend collecting a timeline, communications, account records, screenshots and payment evidence. For a BetaBinary complaint, organise those records around the deposit and withdrawal rather than screenshots of an impressive balance.
- Identify the account and domain: save the full address, account identifier and contact details used.
- Preserve payment evidence: retain receipts, transaction references, recipient details and relevant cryptocurrency transaction hashes.
- Record the withdrawal dispute: save the request, status changes, support replies and any further payment demands.
- Preserve the sales claim: retain advertisements, messages and the version of the terms you received.
Keep original files where possible. If a promoter used screenshots to persuade you to deposit, preserve the accompanying messages too. Our guide to checking a trading mentor’s profit screenshots addresses their evidential weaknesses; a screenshot should not replace a payment record.
Contact the provider that handled your payment
Contact your bank, card issuer, payment app or cryptocurrency service through independently verified channels. Explain what you paid for, what happened, and why you suspect deception. Ask what dispute, recall, refund or fraud reporting process applies.
The FTC’s payment recovery and account protection guidance recommends contacting the payment provider promptly. Recovery is not guaranteed. Describe an authorised payment induced by suspected deception accurately; do not report it as an unauthorised transaction if you made it yourself.
If you shared account credentials, change compromised and reused passwords and enable two factor authentication. Ask the relevant provider what protective action is appropriate if you disclosed card details or other sensitive information.
When reporting the matter, separate documented facts from suspicions. “Withdrawal requested on this date and refused for this reason” is more useful than “everything was fake” without supporting evidence. Request a complaint reference and retain follow-up correspondence.
Be cautious about anyone promising a guaranteed refund
An unsolicited offer to recover your BetaBinary deposit creates another decision point. Do not send an upfront “release fee”, reveal a wallet recovery phrase, or grant remote access because someone knows details of your loss.
The FTC’s refund and recovery scam warning describes fraudsters approaching previous victims and demanding money or personal information to arrange supposed reimbursement. Knowing your name or the amount you lost does not establish that a caller represents an investigator.
Our guide to recovery scammers targeting trading fraud victims covers that follow-up risk. Keep reporting channels separate from anyone selling you a guaranteed outcome.
For prospective customers, the decision remains straightforward: do not deposit while the operator, product permissions and withdrawal agreement remain unverified. For existing customers, prioritise evidence, payment-provider contact and account security. A convincing trading screen cannot resolve those questions.
